Govt to construct 10,000 houses of policemen: Raman

To ensure better residential facilities for policemen in Chhattisgarh, the State Government is going to construct 10,000 houses across the State, said Chief Minister Raman Singh while inaugurating a police residential colony here on Thursday.

Inaugurating the 116 houses residential colony for police personnel at Adaval village near Jagdalpur, the Chief Minister said that for constructing  10,000 houses, a sum of `2,000 crore will be spent.

Notably, Chhattisgarh Police Housing Corporation has completed the colony in Jagdalpur by spending `8.50 crore.

 “Police play an important role in maintaining law and order in the State and country, he said. According to the Chief Minister, in Bastar region police officers/jawans are executing their duties amid tough challenges.

The Chief Minister while appreciating the infrastructure developed in the colony said that Bastar region is on a robust development mode and basic facilities like power, drinking water, irrigation and education have improved substantially.  

State Home Minister Ramsevak Paikara who was also present at the programme said that the policy colony at Jagdalpur is a big achievement for the Department.
