Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that the Samajwadi Party Government has given emphasis on construction of high-class roads as it believes that good roads can bring prosperity in the state.
“The state cabinet has given approval for expressway from Noida to Ballia. It will be the longest expressway in the country. The state will construct this highway from its own resources. The state does not have money still it is doing its bit to improve infrastructure so that private players can invest in this state,” Yadav told reporters after Cabinet meeting hereon Wednesday.
He said that Government has generated enough resources to not only build roads but also make them accident free zones. Special care has been taken to ensure that accident on these highways is minimum, he said in obvious reference to Noida Expressway where fatality rate is very high.
Hitting out at the Union Government he said that the state is not getting enough support from the Centre. “It is ironical that we are not getting our share of money from the centre. In the case of Bundelkhand the Centre should loose purse strings because people there need help and state and centre should work in tandem to extend that help,” Chief Minister said adding: “Centre should also realize its role towards helping people.”.
Yadav would be visiting Bundelkhand for two days from Thursday. He will visit villages, hold discussions with the drought hit people and see himself the state of affairs there. Yadav is also expected to hold rallies.
“The Samajwadi party government will extend all help to the people of Bundelkhand. Water would be made available. New dams are being constructed there. Orders have been issued for 24x7 power supply in this rugged region. This is done so that people can operate their tube wells,” Yadav said.
“It is not only Bundelkhand government has ensured quality power supply all across the state. We will provide solar pumps for farm sector. This is new experiment and the state has earmarked Rs 1200 crore for this project,” he said.
