The State Government on Wednesday declared April 14 as a Government holiday on account of the 125th birth anniversary of the architect of the Constitution Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar.
According to a release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), all Government offices and educational institutions in the State would remain closed on the day.
Sources said the Government is vying to woo the Dalit and marginalised vote bank ahead of the panchayat polls by declaring a public holiday on Dr Ambedkar’s birth anniversary.
