In a development that would help people get information on Smart City Bhubaneswar, Chief Minister Naveen Patniak inaugurated a web-based GIS map portal named ‘Bhubaneswar One’ here on Saturday.
First of its kind, the portal would provide information on the significant places in Bhubaneswar and various public services available at these places. The CM inaugurated the facility at a programme organised by the Housing and Urban Development Department at the State Secretariat.
Besides, Patnaik also inaugurated 50 drinking water projects in 26 cities across the State through videoconferencing. He said, “200 drinking water projects have been inaugurated during the last two months and 500-km old pipes have been replaced with new ones at a cost of Rs 152 crore. Around 13 lakh people of 25 municipal areas would be benefited after completion of the work, probably by March, 2017. “
On the occasion, a tripartite agreement was signed for installation of energy-efficient streetlights in Bhubaneswar, Sambalpur, Brahmapur, Rourkela and Cuttack Municipal Corporation areas. Besides, 11 projects for Cuttack were inaugurated through videoconferencing.
