Even as the girl in question denying love relationship with engineering student Asutosh Mohanty alias Rishi, who died under suspicious circumstances on May 6, Student Congress State president Itish Pradhan on Friday demanded that the police bring under the purview of the investigation the woman social activist who escorted this girl to the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) on Thursday.

Pradhan told reporters here that the so-called social worker took the girl and her mother to the OHRC at the behest of city Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena.

To back his claim, Pradhan showed some photographs to the media in which the social worker is purported to be seen with the Mayor on several occasions, “She is an agent of the ruling BJD.”

“The photographs prove the woman’s close rapport with the ruling BJD and the controversial Bhubaneswar Mayor,” said Pradhan.

Charging that all this is being done to exert pressure on Rishi’s girlfriend to hinder the investigation, Pradhan said the very woman was also very much present during the ‘Thana gherao’ on December 15 night by the Mayor and the BJD’s ‘Shakti Pradarshan’ on December 16.

“I demand that the woman be brought under the purview of Rishi’s suspicious death case investigation. Police should inquire with whom she was talking over phone at 5.15 pm on Thursday and should check her call details,” he added.

Meanwhile, the girl, said to be the girlfriend of Rishi, and her mother denied any link with Rishi.

 “I know nothing about Rishi’s death. I am not hiding anything and will tell the truth before police. Rishi was only a friend when we were pursuing Plus II in ITER college,” the girl told TV channels covering her face.

She also pleaded her ignorance whether Rishi used to take drugs. Speaking over the controversial sex video, the girl said she has no idea how the video came to the fore.

Her mother too pleaded her ignorance about the entire episode of the sex video and the death of Rishi and said they are being targeted and have become victims of politics.
