According to police, the deceased was living in Maheshwari girls hostel located at Jaora Compound and was preparing for her company secretary courses.
The incident came to light at 11 pm on Thursday night when she did not open door of her room despite repeated knocking of the door by her hostel inmates. The panicky girls of the hostel informed about the matter to hostel staff and warden Saroj Yadav. The hostel employees while craning through window of her room, found the deceased hanging from ceiling of the room.
They immediately informed about the matter to Chawni police. Soon after being informed police jawans rushed to the incident site, brought down body of the victim and sent it to MY hospital for post-mortem. Police said the deceased before hanging herself from ceiling of her room, had tried to end her life by cutting veins of her hand. The reason behind incident was not known till filing this report.
According to warden, the deceased Shruti till 2 pm on Thursday was found to be perfectly normal, showing no sign of any discomfort. She was found talking to other girl inmates of the hostel before she went to her room. Her hostel inmates grew suspicious when Shruti did not come out her room till 11 pm on Thursday night. Her friends repeatedly knocked door of her room repeatedly but she did reply. This apparently made other girls of the hostel panicky and they informed about the matter to hostel warden.
According to other girls of the hostel, Shruti was very lovable girl with a jolly nature. She had celebrated her birth day in the hostel on April 7 this month and we all had enjoyed a lot, they said adding that even many of us had written our names on the wall of her room. The hostel girls further said that Shruti was perfectly right till Thursday afternoon but we simply fail to understand as to what happened thereafter, that she was driven to take such an extreme step.
