A foundation stone for a foot over-bridge between the commerce and administrative blocks of the FM Autonomous College was laid on Tuesday by the local MP RK Jena. The project with an estimation of Rs 44.42 lakh would be completed by the Works Department.
Since different departments are in different locations, the students and staff of the college face a lot of inconvenience, besides there have been accident threat while crossing the busy road.
The foot over bridge was one of the demands of the students, which would not only connect two blocks but also mitigate the difficulties of the commuters. The students had apprised about the need of the bridge to MP Jena and the latter had assured to look into it.
“It was a long standing demand and after persuasion with the Government, the project has been approved. With the completion of bridge, at least the safety of the students will be ensured,” said Jena.
