Civil and police officials will be in flying squad for the ensuing bypoll for Panki Assembly constituency which is slated to go to polls on May 16.
Confirming the setting up of flying squad, DIG police Saket Kumar Singh said this squad will be after the cash flow, illicit weaponry and illicit liquor besides any other electoral malpractice.
On being asked how and what the police administration will draw its strategy if former Naxalites jump into this by poll fray pat came the response from DIG, “Police always appreciate if former naxalites evince interest in this kind of democratic process and police will draw its own suitable and adequate measures and strategies if any former naxalite contest this election.”
Sources close to CPI Maoist and other splinter groups that former naxalites ‘are not any keen to contest the bypoll here in Panki’. Sources reminded that one former naxaliteRanjanji contested this seat twice in the past only to get drubbed miserably both the times.
When DIG was asked if heavy number of companies of CPMF reaching here will be housed temporarily in colleges falling in this constituency of Panki where will be going on university examination in this pre poll time Saket said, “We are surer to get a large number of companies of CPMF. I do not know about their housing right now’.
All police stations falling in this constituency will have drop gates near its establishment to check vehicles, occupants if looking or behaving suspiciously and belongings carrying by them. However DIG said no law abiding citizen or traveller will be put to any questioning or inconvenience.
Sources said heavy withdrawals from the nationalised banks in this constituency will be under the scanner of the administration.
Any withdrawal above 50,000 in cash is to be scrutinized on getting discovered or detected and the taker of this has to explain the purpose behind carrying such above 50,000 plus rupees.
DC Palamu Amit Kumar and SP Palamu Patel Mayur K lal both have gone on record saying ‘ The administration can’t help if a person is caught with wad of notes worth above 50,000 rupees and fail to explain the use purpose and genuineness of the utilisation of the cash’.
