Fire service officers on alert to deal with fire incident

The fire service officers are on their toes too as the Deepawali festivities, known for illumination and bursting of firecrackers, often spawn fire-related accidents.

Dehradun chief fire officer Shiv Prasad Mamgai said that no report of fire incidents had been reported till evening (7 pm) from any parts of the state on Saturday.

The firemen have been put on alert. Besides, the fire station officers have drafted a plan to deploy fire tenders across the district. In the city, fire tenders have been deployed at eight locations in the city.

These places are Premnagar, Clock Tower, Saharanpur, Dharampur, Shimla bypass, Kotwali, Premnagar and Dilaram Chowk area.

Two bike-borne fire- fighters are making rounds the city, Sharma added. He further said one can inform the fire service department on telephone numbers-101-100 and 2716242.
