FIR registered in Rajya Sabha MP election case

Following directions from Election Commission, an FIR has been registered against unknown persons to probe into the alleged conspiracy of change of pen/ink leading to rejection of 12 ballot papers during Rajya Sabha polls in Haryana. Inspector Poonam Dilawari, SHO Police Station, Sector 3 here confirmed that an FIR has been registered into the case and investigation has been started. The FIR has been registered against unknown persons under the Sections 129, 134, 136 A, 136 F, 136 G, 120, 379, 415, 417, 420, 426, 467, 468 into the case. A day before, the EC had directed Haryana chief electoral officer (CEO) to take disciplinary action and register an FIR under various sections of IPC against RK Nandal (returning officer) for concealment of facts and negligence during the entire process of RS polls to the two seats in the state.
