An exhibition on ‘Intangible Natural Heritage: Focus on Traditional Knowledge and Biodiversity,’ was inaugurated at the Regional Museum of Natural History (RMNH), Bhopal, on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the museum on Thursday. Vice-Chancellor of Madhya Pradesh Bhoj (Open) University, Bhopal, Professor Tariq Zafar was the chief guest, Vice-Chancellor of the Atal Bihari Vajpai Hindi University, Bhopal, Professor Mohan lal Chhipa was the programme president and Scientist-E, National Museum of Natural History, New Delhi Naaz Rizvi was the special guest of the programme.
Professor Tariq Zafar inaugurated the temporary exhibition. In-Charge and Scientist-B of the museum Manoj Kumar Sharma welcomed the guests.
Chief Guest Professor Tariq Zafar appreciated the museum for arranging the temporary exhibition. He suggested that we should involve those areas where these communities are living. He told the Bhoj University also will arranged plantation with the coordination of RMNH on the theme. Programme President, Prof. Mohan lal Chhipa appealed to children that they should plant a tree on their birthday every year as well mothers may plant at least five medicinal plants at their house.
Special Guest Naaz Rizvi also appreciated the RMNH for organizing such kind of temporary exhibition. RMNH may organize more outreach programme to reach different biodiversity areas. Rizvi also informed about the harmful impact of uses of plastic. She appealed to children that they may became a ambassador of environment. She told that it is duty of every citizen to conserve environment for future. Chief Guest, Special Guest, Programme President and In-charge of Museum distributed prize and certificates to winners of Shrut lekh and Essay writing competitions held during the Hindi Pakhwada (September 14-28) at RMNH, Bhopal.
