Calling upon the people to follow the ethos of universal brotherhood and peace, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Sunday said that every religion in the world preaches the message of communal harmony, peace, brotherhood and welfare of all.
Interacting with various religious heads during the inauguration of Vishav Dharam Sewa Shanti Mission during a religious congregation here today, the Chief Minister said that every religion teaches us to ensure the well being of every human being. He said that Guru Granth Sahib was a unique religious granth which has the bani of Bhagats, saints and seers besides the great Sikh Gurus.
lauding the enormous contribution of Mission in doing the public service under the leadership of Sant Baba lakha Singh Nanaksar Kaleranwale, the Chief Minister also recalled the valuable contribution of the mission in the social and religious fields.
Badal said that the mission was playing a key role in undertaking several philanthropic works for serving the mankind adding that the mission was propagating the message of universal love and brotherhood amongst the people.
On the occasion, Sant Baba lakha Singh apprised the Chief Minister that ever since coming into existence in 2012, the mission had been tirelessly working to cement the bonds of communal harmony and peace in the state.
He said that the mission had till yet organized 30 Vishav Dharam Sewa Shanti sammellans adding that this was 31st such sammellan, in which delegates from across the globe were participating.
On the occasion the Chief Minister was presented a robe of honour ‘siropa’ by Sant Baba lakha Singh.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by his Special Principal Secretary Dr S Karunaraju and Akali leader Tejinderpal Singh Sandhu.
