A meeting of district-level tourism promoting committee was organised at Abhilasha hall in the chairmanship of DC Bhuvanesh Pratap Singh. A discussion on celebrations of District Establishment Day was carried out in the meeting. It was decided to hold three days functions so that lohardaga would be in the map of the country as a tourist site.
An array of 17 days long ceremonies would be started from May 1 and would be continued till May 17. The name of the Mahotsav has been given in the name of Shankh River the lifeline of the district as Shankh Mahotsav. The main functions would be organised on 15th, 16th and 17th May included Paint my city, cleanliness campaign and film Mahotsav.
In this channel on 14th a poet summit, on 15th development-cum-employment fair would be hold. District level games and sports and felicitation of state level players would be organised. To make the programme successful many committees have been set up.
