New and Renewable Energy Minister Rajendra Shukla said that maximum efforts will be made to further increase subsidy under Mukhyamantri Solar Pump Yojana so that smallest farmers can also avail its benefit. He urged for maximum use of solar energy through cooperation of public representatives.
Shukla was chairing a meeting of advisory committee of New and Renewable Energy Department on Wednesday. Member MlAs Balbeer Singh, Subedar Singh Rjaudha, Harsh Yadav, Narayan Tripathi and Usha Thakur attended the meeting.
The Minister informed that total capacity of renewable energy was 106 MW in year 2011-12, which has risen to 2650 MW in year 2015-16. In year 2011-12, total installed capacity of solar energy was 2 MW, which has increased to 705 MW. Similarly, installed wind energy capacity in the state has also increased from 100 MW to 1767 MW.
Madhya Pradesh is second in the country and solar and wind energy. Works are underway on investment proposals worth about Rs 60,000 crore for development of 9382 MW capacity in renewable energy sector.
The Minister informed that world's biggest solar power plant being installed in Rewa will give a global identity to the state. He also informed about net metering system of solar energy. Principal Secretary Renewable Energy Manu Shrivastava informed that programme to install 3000 pumps has been given to Madhya Pradesh under Solar Pump Scheme.
The PS also informed about Central government's 'Ujala' scheme for distribution of lED bulbs. Under the scheme, 3 crore bulbs will be distributed at just Rs 85 per bulbs.
