Dist Magistrate to identify and allocate clay sites to potters

District magistrates will be nominated members of Uttarakhand Mati Kala Board. Issuing this direction, chief minister Harish Rawat directed that to make clay available to potters  in the districts, the district magistrates should identify clay sites and allocate these to the potters. In addition to the 350 electricity-powered potters’ wheels distributed till date, 100 additional such units will also be made available, for which the CM also approved a sum of Rs 15 lakh. The CM gave these instructions while addressing the meeting of the Uttarakhand Mati Kala Parishad late on Friday night at the secretariat.
