DGP give details of Police Week celebrations that begins on Friday

Director General of Police, Javeed Ahmed, gave details of the Police Week  celebrations in Uttar Pradesh, which begin on Friday. 

State governor, Ram Naik will participate in the programme and address the biggest force of the world. He will also honour policemen, including IG, GK Goswami, and SP Vinay Bhushan, who received Presidents Medal for Gallantry. It may be mentioned that last year, the programme could not be held. It maybe recalled that during Mayawati’s regime of five years, the Police Week was celebrated just for one year. 

A day before the Police Week starts, a meeting of officers of Provincial Police Services Association (PPSA), Police Pensioners Welfare Association, joint meeting of police pensioners and serving officers, UP Sports Control Board and a general meeting of senior officers will be held on Thursday. 

On Friday, the Police Week will start with `Police Raitik Parade’ in the Reserve Police lines at lucknow in which Governor Ram Naik will take salute and will honour the police personnel. 

later a meeting of senior police officers (mainly belonging to IPS cadre), will be held at Police Radio Headquarter followed by DGP At-Home (evening tea) and `Bada Khana’ grand feast at Reserve Police lines.  On April 2, senior police officers will  meet at Police Radio Head-Quarters. later in the day, chief minister Akhilesh Yadav would address them. The venue for CM address has been changed to Tilak Hall from Police Radio head-quarter after which the CM will host a lunch for the IPS officers. later the meeting of IPS Association would take place followed by their dinner to be hosted by Governor. On the last day, a cricket match will be organised followed by cultural programme and Mess Night. The presentation  will be made during Police Officers Meet included Human Resource Management in Police, Social Media: Emerging trends, challenges to law & Order, and lastly Challenges in Urban Policing – The way forward.
