DC Ravi Shankar Shukla was in Barkagaon on Wednesday to take a close look of the developmental schemes going on in the block and to know the ground level problems. In the meeting hall of Barkagaon block office he sat with the representatives of various political parties and elected members of village local bodies.
In the meeting while discussion was going on about the ongoing scheme of construction of toilets DC came to know that there is no toilet in the houses of at least 13 newly elected village local body representatives. Taking it seriously Shukla said, “Since you are the leaders of your locality in such type of schemes it is necessary that you should start with yourself.” He directed the officials to take care of it and to report him within 15 days that toilets have been constructed in the houses of these representatives.
In this meeting DC tried to know the ground level problems in executing the schemes and also sought suggestions from the participants to sort out these problems. Representatives of various political parties and elected village local body members raised problems related with different pension schemes, ration card, construction of dobha and other basic facilities.
In this meeting the drinking water supply in Mahugaon was raised by village local body representatives who suggested that it can be solved by changing the motor of the pump house. DC immediately ordered the officials present there to take care of this problem and to solve the problem as per the solution given by the villagers within a week.
Addressing the gathering Shukla said that it is your responsibility also to keep eyes on the developmental works going on in your area. He directed the officials to complete the developmental works within given timeframe and to keep eye on its quality.
