Daltonganj Garhwa road blocked for 2 hrs over murder

Irate residents blocked Daltonganj Garhwa road for two hours on Saturday in protest against the murder of a 30-year-old youth identified as Serajuddin. He hailed from Kunjra patti in Daltonganj town.

The blockade was lifted on the assurances of Sadar BDO. The deceased family had been assured of widow pension.

Giving details Officer In-Charge of Daltonganj police station S K Malviya said, “The deceased used to rent his four wheeler and on January 24 he drove his four-wheeler which was hired and booked for Garhwa and there after he went traceless'.

Police officer further said he (Serajuddin) made a call from his cell phone to his wife on January 24  evening and that was his last call added this police officer. His cell phone thereafter went in 'off mode'.

His family lodged a complaint here with the Daltonganj police station.

However, his body was found in Meral about 12 Kms away from Garhwa district on January 28.

Post-mortem was done in Garhwa.

On Saturday, his body was brought from Garhwa to Daltonganj and public anger erupted on the street here.

His four-wheeler stands missing confirmed the police officer. Sources said there is a gang here which first hire a vehicle, pay some cash in advance and then captures and kills the driver and runs away with the vehicle.

Chassis and engine numbers are easily manipulated. Policeare investigating the murder case.

However, there is eye account except that his body was found which looked strangulated and face crushed with stones to hide his identity.

The deceased was identified by the clothes he wore on January 24.
