The Central University of Odisha celebrated the 8th Foundation Day at its permanent campus, Sunabeda on Monday in a simple and dignified manner.
Vice Chancellor Prof Sachidananda Mohanty hoisted the university flag and inaugurated the programme. On the occasion, a lecture on “Discovering many lives of Rabindranath Tagore” was organised.
Former pro Vice-Chancellor of Visva Varati and currently Professor of Rabindra Bhawan Prof Uday Narayan Singh delivered the lecture. Prof Mohanty presided.
Er Debasish Dev, Executive Director, HAl, Sunabeda and Er Raj Kishore Mishra, Executive Director, Nalco, Damanjodi, attended the programme as guests.
Prof Mohanty called for the unity among the students to achieve goal of their life. Prof Singh stressed that the students are the key agents to build up a nation and teachers are the catalyst to bring change. Er Debashis Deb acknowledged the progress of the university within a short span of the time. He said the CUO and the Hindustan Aeronautics limited (HAl) must work for mutual benefit. Er Mishra said medical facility of the PSUs should be extended to the student of the university.
Certificates and prizes were distributed among the students for participating in various events. Priyanka Sharma compeered the programme and Kranti Titikshya Samal gave vote of thanks.
