The Chhattisgarh State Election Commission (CSEC) has commenced the initial preparation for general elections in Bhilai-Charauda Municipal Council of Durg district this year.

The Commission has finalised the schedule for revising the voter-list of Bhilai-Charauda Municipal Council, officials here informed.

It has ordered District Election Officer of Durg to ensure revision of voter-list as per the prescribed schedule.

As per the orders, first phase of preparation of voter-list will commence from June 29, 2016.

Final declaration of voter-list will be done on November 7, 2016.

On July 29, registration officer/assistant registration officer will be appointed. Employees for preparation of preliminary voter-list will be appointed on August 4. Thereafter, preliminary voter-list will be prepared by August 19.

By August 24, a set of preliminary voter-list will be submitted at office of District Election Officer (Municipal Council). As per the final schedule, the preliminary voter-list will be printed by September 9.

In the second phase, voter-list has to be published, publicity of the same is to be done, authorised workers are to be appointed and trained, MPs/MlAs/Corporators are to be informed, and a preliminary list of recognised political parties is to be made available by September 19.

Works related to publishing of voter-list and receiving claims and objections will commence from September 24. October 7 has been decided to be the last date for receiving claims and objections, and orders have been given to redress these claims and objections by October 18.

Ward-wise supplementary lists will be finalised by October 22. later, till October 29 supplementary lists will be published. Till November 2, supplementary lists will be merged with preliminary voter-lists. later On November 7, 2016, final voter-list will be published.
