The Congress will organise a State-wide ‘jail bharo andolan’ on November 1 in support of its 20-point charter that includes bonus for paddy.
Chhattisgarh completes 16 years of its formation as a separate State on Tuesday and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend the State anniversary function as the chief guest at Naya Raipur.
“On November 1, Congress will stage, state-wide ‘Jail bharo andolan’ in which the senior leaders of party will `court arrest’ in different part of Chhattisgarh,” spokesperson of Congress in Chhattisgarh Ghanshyam Raju Tiwari said.
According to Tiwari, a signature campaign will be also carried out demanding paddy bonus for farmers.
He informed that the charter of demands includes payment of bonus over paddy and raising the paddy’s minimum support price to Rs 2,100; Every ration card holder family must get 35 kg rice and ration card cancellation drive should be stopped; the crop insurance amount should be paid quickly; stopping of outsourcing; rolling back the power tariff; CBI inquiry into Jheeram Ghati incident and others.
At Raipur, state Congress chief Bhupesh Baghel, leader Congress legislature Party (ClP) TS Singhdeo, senior party leader Satyanarayan Sharma, Karuna Shukla, Mohammad Akbar and Youth Congress President Umesh Patel will take part in protest.
