Sunday, 31 July 2016 | PNS | Mansa

Union Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Saturday accused the Congress Party for deliberately tarnishing the image of Punjab by dubbing Punjabis as ‘drug addicts’ with a sole agenda to gain political mileage.

Interacting with media persons after inaugurating and laying foundation stones of various development projects, Badal said Congress and AAP were all out to defame Punjab. She said the ongoing recruitment process in Punjab Police itself a crystal clear example where only 1 percent result of dope was come positive. She said that both party were acting as inimical forces for vote politics but people should stay away from their nefarious designs.

Answering a query regarding Navjot Singh Sidhu likely to join AAP, Badal said that the former was taking dig at AAP leaders by calling them turncoats but now he, himself, proved as one. She said that AAP leaders had no agenda, vision and stand. She said that in Delhi Arvind Kejriwal had proved a failed Chief Minister by changing colours like chameleon.

Hailing decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approving All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) at Bathinda, the local MP said that this prestigious healthcare institute would prove a boon for Punjab and neighbouring states. She said this institute would be constructed at a cost of Rs 926 crore with a facility of 750 beds free of cost treatment facilities.
