The State Congress on Saturday demanded a judicial inquiry into Palamu naxal attack on policemen that resulted in casualty of five policemen besides, two civilians. Congress’s leader and former Minister, KN Tripathi today pressed for a judicial probe into the matter and blamed the State police of unprofessionalism.
CPI (Maoist) rebels had ambushed a police patrol vehicle on January 27 evening when they were heading towards Kalapahari as part of reinforcements in Tata-407. A landmine had blown up the vehicle leaving eight people injured in the incident.
“The SP and DIG are responsible for this incident. We want judicial inquiry into this incident and the two should be suspended until the investigations are completed,” said Tripathi at party office.
The former Minister blamed police of playing hand in glove with naxals and adopting totally unprofessional approach in counter insurgency operations. Tirpathi held police guilty of the incident.
“This happened because of monumental blunder on police’s part. State police is walking on wrong path and is working in illegal manner,” added Tripathi.
The Congress leader asserted that after the ghastly incident several questions cropped up which are still unanswered and stressed on fixing accountability of the incident.
The police’s convoy had come under gun fire as soon as the landmine blew up the vehicle that was carrying the policemen who were on their way to Kalapahari as reinforcements.
Meanwhile, the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee felicitated Education Minister of Bihar, Ashok Kumar Chaudhary at Ranchi. The Education Minister of Bihar maintained that the Bhartiya Janta Party is raising issues just to take political mileage.
Chaudhary said matriculation examination in Bihar would be conducted under CCTV surveillance and the Bihar government would ensure that the examination
is conducted without any
disgraceful acts on the part
of parents.
