Cong resumes Jagaran Yatra from S'garh

After a brief lull, the State Congress resumed its ‘Jana Jagaran Yatra’ by holding a massive rally at Sundargarh on Sunday.

Senior Congress leaders, workers and thousands of supporters participated in the rally from Karamdihi Square to newly constructed Congress Bhawan in Adarsh Nagar.

PCC president Prasad Harichandan, leader of the Opposition in State Assembly Narasingha Mishra, AICC co-in-charge in Odisha Subhankar Sarkar, senior leaders Hemananda Biswal, lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra, Kishore Patel, Congress MlAs from Sundargarh Prafulla Majhi and Jogesh Singh, Jharsuguda Congress  MlA  Naba  Das,  State Congress Women president Sasmita Behera and many party leaders took  part in the yatra.

After marching on a 7-km-long procession, the leaders addressed a huge gathering at the Adarsh Nagar ground. They raised voice against high-level corruptions and misdeeds and failures of the BJD Government. They slammed the Government for multi-crore chit fund scam, farmer suicides and irregularities preparation and distribution of NFSA ration cards.

The leaders alleged that many BJD leaders have links with notorious Dhalsamant brothers. Besides, they talked about how law and order situation has worsened in the State. The Government has failed to provide safety to women. As many as six women are reportedly being raped daily in Odisha, they alleged.

 “The BJD Government has failed in all fronts,” said Talsara MlA Prafulla Majhi. The ‘Jana Jagaran Yatra’ has been successful in Sundargarh, he added.
