Senior Congress leaders and legislators on Tuesday asked rebel BJP legislator Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu to better mind her own business than trying to meddle in the affairs of other parties.
“Before pontificating and pointing fingers at others, you better prick your own conscience to realize whether it is fair on your part to condemn your own party and still enjoy the comforts of power that it has provided you,” they asked her.
“It is strange that when your own house is not in order, and you have been left lurching high and dry by everyone, you are commenting on the functioning of the Congress party and its leader whose credentials are proven beyond any doubt,” said party legislators in a joint statement, while reacting to Dr Sidhu’s comments about the Congress and its state president Capt Amarinder Singh.
The signatories to the statement included OP Soni, Rana Gurjeet, Kewal Dhillon, Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi, Sukh Sarkaria, Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Sukhjinder Randhawa, Gurkirat Singh Kotli, Navtej Cheema, Hardayal Kambhoj, Sangat Singh Gilzian, Sunder Shyam Arora, Rajneesh Babbi, Aruna Chaudhary, Gur Iqbal Kaur, and Bibi Harchand Kaur.
The Congress leaders said that Dr Sidhu was
apparently feeling frustrated for the obvious reason that her own party had disowned her and the Aam Aadmi Party was not prepared to
accept her and now she was trying to vent her frustration on someone else.
Congress party and Capt Amarinder Singh did not need any certificate from anyone, much less from someone who herself was not sure where she stood or belonged to, they said.
