Demanding redressal of their pending demands, the Collectorate employees under the banner of Uttarakhand Collectorate Ministerial Employee Union boycotted their works on Tuesday. The members assembled at revenue office at Ring Road and staged a day- long sit-in. The agitators submitted a memorandum addressing the chief secretary. Their demands include 10 per cent seats for ministerial employees be kept reserve through promotion on the direct recruitment of Tehsildar. Administrative officials be immediately promoted on vacant posts pending in the department is another of the demands.
Meanwhile, work in the Collectorate was adversely affected as UCMEU members stayed away from their works. The visitors who reached the Collectorate to have their grievances addressed returned disappointed. A protester Rajendra Rawat said despite written assurances given by the State Government regarding their long- pending demands, their concerns are yet to be addressed.
