Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh is known to ‘walk the talk’ once he commits himself to an assignment no matter how challenging the task is.
Notably, Singh on Friday fulfilled his pledege to reach out to villagers in the extreme Maoist strongholds to personally interact with them. The CM rode pillion on a motorcycle to reach the remotest pockets of the State infested with Maoism to tell the villagers that development is within their reach.
Singh fearlessly rode a bike in insurgency infested Sukma district to inspect the 28 kms patch of Bhejji-Injaram road on the second day of his “lok Suraj Mission”. Just for the record, the Bhejji patch in Sukma district has the bloodiest history of Maoist violence.
The CM with a handful of security men and officials inspected the road. Back in the Bhejji village, the Chief Minister met the families affected by Maoist violence and boosted their confidence.
He laid foundation stones and performed “Bhoomi pujan” of several developmental works at district headquarters town Sukma earlier.
The Chief Minister also met the families who were rehabilitated from neighbouring Telangana and asked officials to provide him details of the socio-economic conditions of these families. Singh instructed the concerned officers to construct “pucca” houses
for them.
