In continuation of the government’s resolve to provide electricity to 32,000 villages of the State within next three years, Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Friday laid the foundation of 132/33 KV Grid Sub Station and 132 KV Khunti-Tamar transmission line at Angrabari in Khunti district. Das also aid online foundation of sub stations and 14 transmission lines at Ratu, rajmahal, Jamua, Giridih, Bahragora, Chandankiyari, Jainamore, Patratu and lohardaga.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion Das said that the condition of electricity and roads are being improved across the State to give a boost to the economy of villages. Villagers should initiate energy revolution as electricity is an agent of change in villages and people. He said that the government was continuously working to make facilities reach the remotest villages of the State.
The CM said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Sahebganj in January and he would lay foundation of 4,000 MW power station. “In coming days 81 grids and 257 sub stations’ construction would begin in the State. The Government is working to make electricity reach 30 lakh houses and till date 7 lakh households have been benefitted. In 451 villages situated at hills solar power will be used out of which tender process for 350 villages has been completed,” he added.
Das said that Raksha Shakti University would be opened in Khunti. Youths of Khunti and other districts would be trained for skill development and and within two years not only the district would change but smiles would be visible on the faces of people, he added.
Talking about lac production Das said that the produce is now sold by middlemen on meager prices. “Now, the government would buy lac at Rs 200 per kg and export it to four countries. A workplan is being prepared, under which women would be attached to the trade and women’s groups would take the work ahead. Also, a separate board would be set up for Tasar, lac and handicrafts. The entrepreneur groups would be trained and encouraged to produce goods as per the need and status of markets,” the CM said.
Rural development Minister Nilkanth Singh Munda alongwith JUVNl MD Rahul Purwar, JUBNl MD Manjunath Bhajantri alongwith senior officials were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, in another programme at Jamtara, CM distributed assets worth Rs 75 crore to beneficiaries, inaugurated schemes worth Rs 50 crore and felicitated beneficiaries under Ujjwala Yojna, lakshmi ladli Yojna and Jal Sahiyas.
The CM greeted people for Sohrai festivals and said that the day would be declared State Holiday in the coming days. The CM also exhorted people to opt for self employment and take benefits from several welfare schemes run by the government. He asked people to go for dairy farming, poultry, fisheries and other trades. Das also said that a large number of employment opportunities would be coming with investments coming in to the State.
Women and child Development Minister louis Marandi and senior officials were also present on the occasion. Marandi said that for the first time a Government is serious about development of the State through developing villages and giving opportunities of its people.
