In a bid to check practice of hiring locals for replacing teachers posted in schools  in remote areas, Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Tuesday directed all Deputy Commissioners to ensure that Aadhaar-photographs of all the teachers posted in a particular school gets displayed there within a month. Das was speaking at Suchna Bhawan here during a Seedhi Baat Programme.

“All the DCs will ask their DSEs to ensure that the Aadhaar photographs of the teachers are displayed in that school within a month. It will enable students as well as their parents to know about the teachers who are posted in that particular school,” said Das. There are reports that some of the teachers posted in remote areas have hired locals from the nearby villages as their replacements by paying them minimal amount of Rs 5 - 6 thousand or so while they live at some other places, he added. “Teaching work is extremely getting stalled in these schools due to such practices rampant in remote villages,” said the CM. Salaries of teachers must be stopped, who fail to do so in a month’s time, he added.

“Not only that, jail inmates should also be connected with Aadhaar,” the CM said.

The matter was raised by one Gopikrishna Verma of Giridih who complained that children of Harodih Utkramit Madhya Vidyalaya were not getting the facilities provided by the State Government.

“The school timing has also been shortened to 1 pm from 10 AM against the actual timing of 8 am to 2 pm,” said Verma. Despite the fact that villagers made several complaints at the block and district level, no action was taken against anybody, he said.

The Chief Minister also directed Gumla DC to ensure that not a single girl gets trapped by the mediators for exploitation.

“Arrange employment for them in Gumla only and also arrest those persons who are indulged in trafficking of these poor girls,” said the CM. He also passed a message to these girls that they need not go outside the state as they will be provided employment in the here only.

Das also appealed to lalo Kumari, who had come to lodge her complaint with the CM, to expose those who are indulging in this business of trafficking. He directed Gumla Police to take immediate action against the persons whom lalo Devi has named in her complaint.

The Chief Minister during Seedhi Baat also provided immediate relief of Rs 1 lakh to Chinta Devi, wife of late Vipta Ram who died back in the year 1997 but the family, was yet to get their dues from the state government. Ram was a BHAlCO employee.

When the CM enquired about it, he was told that matter was related to Bihar Government, yet they were talking to the officials in Bihar in this regard. looking at the monitory conditions of the Chinta Devi, the CM gave her an immediate relief of Rs 1 lakh.

The CM also directed Saraikela-Kharsawan SP to look into the murder case of Uttam Kumar, a student of NIC Jamshedpur, again and reinvestigate the case from the beginning. Das ensured the complainant that a high level inquiry will be set up in the case if required.
