CM Das inspects MGM Hospital

Concerned over by frequent public complaints concerning non-availability of doctors and paramedical staff, Chief Minister Raghubar Das carried out surprise inspection at the State-run MGM Medical College and Hospital on Saturday. He said that there are shortcomings in the hospital which will be soon solved. He promised better services in the days to come.

He inspected different departments of the MGM Hospital and directed the hospital authorities to sort out the shortcomings in the management of the hospital. He informed that 900 para- medical staff  will be appointed very soon to run the hospital properly.

Also present on the occasion, K Vidyasagar principal secretary, Health Department said that there are many shortcomings in the hospital which will be  sorted out in a few months. On this occasion, the secretary to the CM Sunil Kumar Burnwal, DC Amitabh Kaushal, SSP Anup T. Mathew, deputy development commissioner Vinod Kumar, Superintendent of MGM Hospital Dr RY Choudhary, Civil Surgeon and other people were present .  

The MGMCH is a Government hospital with the facility of 540 beds. Everyday around 1,000 patients come here for treatment. Several times parts of ceiling and windows have collapsed four times in the Government hospital. Due to lack of repair work and attention of the authorities concerned, the condition of the hospital has deteriorated to a great extent.

The team of officials inspected OPD, Emergency, Dental, ENT, ECG, asked the officials to tighten their belts.

It may be mentioned that State Government governed Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College and Hospital, is an Indian medical school established in 1964. It is situated in the outskirts of Jamshedpur near Dimna. The students are admitted through an All India pre medical test CBSE PMT held by CBSE and Jharkhand and Bihar states' combined entrance tests. The college's hospital is located in Sakchi. Currently, there is post graduate education in non clinical and paraclinical subjects.

Prior to this the Chief Minister paid tribute to Father of the Nation on his death anniversary at Jamshedpur. Das paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary by garlanding his statue in Gandhi Maidan, Jamshedpur.  He said that the youths of the nation need to follow his ideals, views and principles. The true tribute to the Father of the Nation will be to incorporate with Satya (Truth) and  Ahimsa (non-violence).
