Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited his old school Government Middle School no 1 at Shivaji Nagar under the ‘Kahani Utsav’ on Tuesday. He narrated story to the children and refreshed his old memories. CM Chouhan had studied from class 6 to 8 in this school from the year 1969. It may be mentioned that the ‘Kahani Utsav’ is being organized with an objective to develop reading habits among the children.
CM Chouhan narrated the story of the best Archer Arjun in which an archery test was taken by Guru Dronacharya of Koravas and Pandavas. In this incident, several other things including bird were seen by all, whereas only bird’s eye was seen by the Arjun. Shri Chouhan explained the children through the story that focus on target is must for success. Children can achieve success in their lives focusing on their studies. Moreover, Chouhan narrated second story about the childhood days of Gandhi Ji in which Gandhi Ji was told to copy his co-students answer by the teacher as he was not familiar with the answer. And Gandhi ji replied the teacher that he will write whatever he know but will not copy.
Chief Minister Chouhan also recollected memories of his school days on the occasion. He said that he used to come on foot to school from Ravishankar Nagar. He was taught by Kashyap Sir and Shailbala Madam. Moreover, Chouhan said that he studied here from class 6th to 8th. He used to play football here and teachings of this school and blessings of the teachers have made him a good person.
He further stated that we all become good by the values given by our parents and from the teachings of the teachers. Bal sabha was held and dramas were also played here. He always used to achieve distinction in his class. After clearing class 8th he went to Model School TT Nagar for further studies and was sent to jail during emergency for opposing it.
After spending 9 and half months in jail he attempted class 11 examination in March 1977 and cleared it with 1st division. He did M.A. in Philosophy and passed with 1st division.
On demand of the students, Chouhan said that the students will be taken for Mandavgarh visit during the December vacation. School building will be repaired and new school building will be constructed. Moreover, sports ground will be developed and sports goods for cricket, hockey and badminton will be provided. CM Chouhan also distributed books to the children.
He mentioned that in whichever field they wish to go they go but perform with excellent. Work for country and Society. The state government will provide all possible help for study of the talented students. Fee for higher education in fields like medical, engineering etc. will be provided by the state government to the talented poor students after getting admissions. Commissioner Directorate of Public Instructions Deepti Gaur Mukherjee and Collector Nishant Varvade were present on the occasion.
