Two days after their induction in the State Cabinet, the Chief Minister Harish Rawat allotted portfolios to Ministers Navprabhat and Rajendra Singh Bhandari on Saturday. While Navprabhat has been given the charge of Transport, Mining and Chief Minister’s Office (Suraj and corruption eradication, public service, vigilance, general administration and Secretariat), Bhandari has been allotted Agriculture, Agricultural Education and Agricultural Marketing, land Consolidation in hilly areas, Rain Water Harvesting, Fodder and Fodder Cultivation Development, Silk Development and Rural Pond Development.
This apart, CM Rawat has also given extra portfolios to other Cabinet Ministers. For instance, Dinesh Dhanai has been given charge of Medical Education while Pritam Singh Panwar has been given charge of Horticulture.
Parliamentary Secretaries have been attached with the ministries as well. Ganesh Godiyal has been given charge of Information, Watershed and livelihood, Disaster Management and Biotechnology. Vijay Pal Sajwan has been given charge of Planning, UPCl, Home and Border Area Development.
Manoj Tiwari has been made in-charge of Environment and Solid Waste Management, PWD and Agricultural Education.
Hemesh Kharkwal had been given charge of UJVNl, Industrial Development and Drinking Water. Jeet Ram has been given charge of Food Processing, Estate and Social Welfare. Madan Singh Bisht has been given charge of Excise and Secretariat Administration. Rajkumar has been given charge of Housing, Child Development and Rajiv Gandhi Urban Housing and Slum Development.
Besides, Godiyal has been made in-charge of Almora district, Vijay Pal Sajwan in-charge of Tehri district, Manoj Tiwari given charge of Nainital and Champawat district. This aside, while Hemesh Kharkwal has been made in-charge of Pithoragarh district Jeet Ram of Rudraprayag and Bageswhar districts, Madan Singh Bisht of Chamoli district and Rajkumar of Haridwar district
