A group of seven adventure cyclists from Odisha has decided to go on a Vietnam-Cambodia international trip from November 1 to 18. This is a first of its kind initiative from Odisha to develop and promote worldwide friendship through cycling.
This group of adventurists consist members of Bhubaneswar Cycling and Adventure Club (BCAC), which has been organising cycling and adventure sports events.
Senior IPS officer Sanjeeb Kumar Panda would lead the team, whose other members are Sudhanwa Dash, Ajay Kumar Nanda, Gopal Krushna Sahu, Bibhu Prasad Kar, Devadutta Kumar and Manoj Kumar Prusty.
The team would cover 2,000 km in Vietnam to Cambodia. Vietnam, which offers an ideal environment for cycling along with its coast, offers beautiful opportunities to enjoy the beauty of nature, both sea and mountains with green cover.
last year, the team was on a cycle trip from Bhubaneswar to Bhutan and covered 1,300 km in 11 days. Earlier, they had covered 500 km from Manali to leh, which was a difficult terrain.
These brave hearts are going to Vietnam with a purpose of generating friendship and brotherhood among the international community. They have not made any hotel accommodation as they want to enjoy nature and stay anywhere it is suitable for them. They would have their foods in roadside eateries and take rest in motels, which are available in plenty along the Vietnam coast, said a BCAC member.
