After media reports of abusing and slapping of a BSF jawan by officer in charge of Chouparan Police Station, SP Bheemsen Tuti has transferred OIC Manjeet Kumar to Hazaribagh Sadar Police Station. The denizens are surprised with this action because transfer is not a punishment in the eyes of law and people were expecting some strong action against the police officers who had not only misbehaved with the jawan of a paramilitary force but also mishandled him. Ex-MlA Umashankar Akela said that this order confirms his allegation that Manjeet Kumar is enjoying the support of some highly influential politician or bureaucrat of this state. In this case the jawan has sent his complaint to the PMO and Home Ministry also and it will be interesting to see that whether both will accept this transfer as a punishment or not.
