The special judge for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) cases, Bhopal convicted three accused persons with three years and two years rigorous imprisonment with fine on Wednesday.
The CBI Bhopal Branch had registered a Case No RC0082012A0005 under sections 120-B of IPC and Sec 7 and 8 of PC Act, 1988 on May 2. 2012 on the basis of witten complaint lodged by Abhiram Yadav against the then Branch Manager, PNB, Amla, Railway Station Branch District Betul Sitaram Raikwar, Suku Yadav and lakhu Patahe, both private persons.
It was alleged by the complainant that Raikwar while posted and functioning as a Branch Manager of PNB – Amla demanded a bribe of Rs. 22000/- through the private persons lakhu Patahe and Suku Yadav for sanctioning the joint loan of Rs. 2 lacs in the name of complainant Abhiram Yadav and his mother under KCC Scheme.
Accordingly, a trap was laid on one private person Suku Yadav on May 2, 2012 wherein Suku Yadav was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe money of Rs. 19,200/- from complainant Abhiram Yadav on behalf of Sitaram Raikwar, through control delivery bribe amount of Rs. 19200/- was given by Siku Yadav to Sitaram Raikwar was also trapped by CBI team while accepting the same bribe money from Suku Yadav.
After completion of investigation, a chargesheet under sections 120-B of IPC and Sec 7 and 8 and 13 (2) r/w 13 (1) (d) PC Act, 1988 was filed against the accused persons on August 31, 2012 in the Court of Special Judge for CBI
cases, Bhopal.
The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Bhopal convicted the accused persons vide his order dated June 29, 2016 and awarded the sentence of 02 years RI and fine of Rs. 5000/- in default of payment of fine further RI of 03 Month and 03 years RI and fine of Rs. 5000/- in default of payment of fine further RI of 03 Month to Sitaram Raikwar and 02 years RI and fine of Rs. 5000/- in default of payment of fine further RI of 03 Month to Suku Yadav and lakhu Patahe.
