A delegation of Congress members led by legislator Jitu Patwari met Chief Secretary Anthony DeSa here on Monday and submitted a letter requesting cancellation of transfer of Barwani Collector Ajay Gangwar. Patwari said that to show disrespect towards the freedom of expression of a senior official like Gangwar is objectionable.
The delegation that met DeSa included, the president of MP Youth Congress Kunal Chowdhry, legislators Rajneesh Singh, Shailendra Patel, Hardeep Singh Dang, Vijay Singh, Saurabh Singh, Neelesh Awasti and state spokesperson of Youth Congress Sameer Dixit.
In the memorandum, Patwari told DeSa requesting to cancel the transfer of Gangwar as Congress party does not believe that the reason is worthy of a punishment transfer. In the letter it is mentioned that Gangwar has praised the first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru who initiated the construction of IITs, ISRO, IISB, IIM, BHEl Steel Plant, Dams and Thermal Power and led the nation towards development. This is what Gangwar has posted on social media, he added. For posting this on facebook he has been transferred from being collector to Deputy Secretary at the ministry.
Patwari wrote this letter to DeSa as he is presently the head of administrative structure, and wants to ask him where the achievements mentioned in the post isn’t a matter of prideIJ He further asked in the letter that is it wrong to discuss history that lead us towards development. He also mentioned in the letter that this act by the government is seen as dictatorship not only by the electronic and print media, but also by the social media. It is also being considered as violation of freedom of expression, he mentioned in the letter.
He further wrote that as DeSa is the head of the administrative structure it is his responsibility to protect the rights of the administrative officials so that they can function in a fearless environment.
