In a tragic incident, two persons were killed and five others critically injured when a mini truck fell off the Jamasor bridge on NH-26 near Chhatamakhana in Balangir district early on Monday morning.
The deceased were identified as plumbers hailing from Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts.
The injured persons were admitted to the VIMSAR hospital at Burla. Reports said the ill-fated vehicle carrying the plumbers was on its way to Balangir from Sambalpur. The mishap took place when the driver of the mini truck lost control over the wheels, as a result of which the vehicle fell off the bridge.
