BJP's Ramvichar Netam files RS nomination

BJP’s Rajya Sabha poll candidate from Chhattisgarh and former State Minister Ramvichar Netam filed his nomination at the Chhattisgarh legislative Assembly on Monday.

He handed over the nomination papers to Principal Secretary  of Chhattisgarh legislative Assembly , Devendra Verma in the presence of Chief Minster Raman Singh, Higher Education Minister Prem Prakash Pandey, Health Minister Ajay Chandrakar, Chhattisgarh legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker and MlA Badridhar Diwan, State Party President Dharamlal Kaushik besides several others.

Notably, Ramvichar Netam was the member of Chhattisgarh legislative Assembly from Ramanujganj Assembly constituency during 2008 to 2013.

Talking to media persons after Netam filed the nominations,  Chief Minster Raman Singh said Ramvichar Netam would strongly place Chhattisgarh’s issues in the upper house of parliament.

“The greater responsibility that I have been handed over I will put my best to live up to it,” Netam later told reporters after filing papers.

State Bhartiya Janata Party President Dharamlal Kaushik opined that Netam is a seasoned legislator and had been elected four to five times to the State legislative Assembly.

“He was a Minister and has a long experience of participating in legislative proceedings. I believe Chhattisgarh will be benefited at the national level by his experience,” Kaushik said.
