A Bharatiya Janata Party delegation headed by the party’s State chief Ajay Bhatt met the State Governor Krishan Kant Paul requesting him to do the needful to ensure effective measures for tackling the major problems like forest fire, drought and the unavailable or limited supply of potable water in areas across the State which require immediate action.
Meeting the governor at the Raj Bhawan on Friday, the BJP delegation submitted a memorandum to the governor on issues requiring immediate action. In the memorandum submitted to the governor the BJP has sought approval of financial grant for family members of those who died and those were injured in the areas affected by forest fire. The party has also requested that the entire state should be declared drought affected while also seeking loan waiver for farmers and compensation. Other issues raised in the party’s memorandum include measures sought for resolving the drinking water supply problem, disaster management and the facilitation of a convenient and secure Char Dham Yatra among other issues. Along with Bhatt, the BJP delegation to Raj Bhawan also included Dehradun Mayor Vinod Chamoli, Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Vijay, MlAs Pushkar Singh Dhami, Harbans Kapoor, BJP State office bearers Munna Singh Chauhan, Devendra Bhasin, former minister Khajan Das and Asha Nautiyal.
