Bill to raise MlAs' salary by 46 per cent tabled

The State Government on Wednesday tabled a Bill in the Chhattisgarh Assembly proposing around 46 percent hike in the salary of members of the legislative Assembly. The Bill tabled in the House will come up for discussion on  Thursday.

As per information received, the State Government has given its consent on salary hike of around 46 percent.  After passing of the bill, a legislator (who is presently getting `75000 per month) is going to receive salary of  `1,10000 per month. The decision is going to bring additional burden of `10 crore on the State exchequer.
