Following the direction of Central Government and State administration, bank managers and district administrative officers have been directed to ensure that all the bank accounts are linked with the Aadhar card of the accound holders. Dehradun DM Ravinath Raman said this while presiding over a meeting with the district officials and bank officials on Tuesday. He said that the officers concerned should ensure that bank accounts of the account holders are linked with their Aadhar numbers. Those accounts are not linked with Aadhar number; the account holders should immediately be informed. The Aadhar numbers of account holders should also be linked with their mobile numbers. DM Raman has directed bank officials to carry out awareness drive regarding the same among the account holders at their level.
The Central Ggovernment has bestowed the responsibility of bank officials and administrative to open bank account of all the citizens in their respective jurisdiction. DM directed the bank officials to inform the office about the numbers of ruPay card and pin number for their customers are released on daily basis.
In addition to this, they would inform them about point of sale machines being provided to businessmen and its demand on regular basis.
