Yoga guru Baba Ramdev while giving thumbs up to the Prime Minister's demonitisation decision here on Tuesday said though this decision may cause some inconveniences to the common people, the situation will normalize gradually with new currencies reaching the banks in abundance. Ramdev described the Centre's demonetisation as a "bitter pill" but said it will have a "healthy impact" on the Indian economy. Ramdev who was on a private visit to the city, while talking to the media persons at the airport informally said this country belonged to the honest people and the positive of the demonitisation decision would be visible soon.
Though agreeing with inconveniences being faced by the common people, the yoga guru said that despite inconveniences being faced by them, they are supporting the move of the Union government by standing in queues for 4-5 hours outside the banks. He said after demonitisation, huge amount of money are being deposited in the banks and it's benefits would be visible to the common men soon. Replying to a question, he said the country would soon get rid of vices like the terrorism and naxalims and the government was doing the right thing in this regard. Talking about the black money in the Swiss Bank, he said we should first concentrate on cleaning up the black money within the country before taking up such measures abroad. He congratulated chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for completing successful 11 years in the office and said Chouhan will develop Madhya Pradesh further in the coming years.
