The State Government has formed a special police team to arrest eight persons, including five police personnel, involved in the attack of an RSS leader.
Besides, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, despite knowing the fact that he is head of the government in Madhya Pradesh, condemned the incident of beating of RSS functionary in Balaghat.
While talking to media persons here on Thursday Home Minister Bhupendra Singh said that a special team has been formed to arrest those involved in the case of beating RSS Pracharak Suresh Yadav in Balaghat. The five accused police personnel include SHO and Additional SP.
Singh further said that Yadav was innocent. The police officials had accused Yadav for forwarding a so-called objectionable message on Whatsapp group. However, Singh claimed that forwarding such a message on Whatsapp was not a crime. "The IG has also submitted a report in the incident giving a clean chit to Yadav. There is no case pending against Yadav. He is innocent and unnecessarily victimized by the police personnel," he added.
Ever since the Balaghat incident was reported four days ago, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is facing problems. The RSS functionaries have taken the BJP leaders to the task.
Congress spokesman KK Mishra said it was shameful that the CM instead of taking action on the culprits, condemning the incident showing brutality of the cops. Balaghat ASP Rajesh Sharma who was booked and charged with section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC in connection with beating of RSS pracharak Suresh Yadav on Sept 25 and two police officers attached to Baihar police station in Balaghat were suspended for allegedly beating up Yadav. The police, after receiving a complaint that Yadav had posted some comments about Owaisi on WhatsApp, brought him to Baihar police station on the evening of September 25.
