Sleuths of the Vigilance Cell, Cuttack searched house and official chambers of Assistant Commercial Tax Officer, Jajpur Town Kailash Chadra Sethy on Tuesday and found his assets to be worth Rs 2, 12, 94,684.
On allegation of disproportionate assets, his triple storied building in Kaibalya Vihar, Cuttack, four storied building at Kaibalya Vihar, Cuttack, paternal house located at Khusaliram Patna, Jagatsingpur and office chamber at Jajpur Town were searched simultaneously.
In yet another graft case, Junior Engineer Basanta Kumar Sahu of Dharmasala block in Jajpur district was arrested for demanding illegal gratification of Rs 2,500.
Basing on a complaint of Sampad Kumar Bala of Aruha, Dharmasala that Sahu demanded the bribe from him to pass a bill relating to execution of the Jharagadia Market Complex at Dharmasala, a trap was laid on Tuesday and Sahu was caught red handed inside his residential Government quarter.
