The Online Registration System (ORS), a web portal launched by the Ministry of Information and Technology as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India initiative, was started on Sunday at AIIMS Bhopal.
Now, patients can easily book appointments online at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Bhopal (AIIMS Bhopal) at the comfort of own home under its newly launched ‘Tatkal’ (instant) scheme ors.gov.in.
The new scheme enables patients to book an online appointment for the upcoming days against vacant slots, cancellations and no shows at the institute.
Director of AIIMS Bhopal Dr Nitin M Nagarkar inaugurated the service.
The Online Registration, which has become operational from today through which people can log on to www. ors.gov.in to check for availability of empty slots with the doctor of their choice. There is no charge for the Aadhaar-based online registration and appointment system.
Online Registration System (ORS) is a framework to link various hospitals across the country for Aadhaar based online registration and appointment system, where counter based OPD registration and appointment system through Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) has been digitalised.
The application has been hosted on the cloud services of NIC. Portal facilitates online appointments with various departments of different Hospitals using eKYC data of Aadhaar number, if patient's mobile number is registered with UIDAI. And in case mobile number is not registered with UIDAI it uses patient's name. New Patient will get appointment as well as Unique Health Identification (UHID) number. If Aadhaar number is already linked with UHID number, then appointment number will be given and UHID will remain same.
AIIMS BHOPAl Hospital came on board in the platform and started providing appointment slots for online booking of the patients. The system facilitates Hospitals to easily manage their registration and appointment process and monitor the flow of patients.
