The team of Anti-corruption Bureau, Hazaribagh, arrested a Panchayat Sevak on Wednesday morning in front of Vivekananda School of Hazaribagh town. The team led by DSP Pran Ranjan arrested Panchayat Sevak of Saand, Barkagaon, taking a bribe of Rs. 2000 red-handedly.
Mithilesh Kumar Pandey of Shivadih, Barkagaon, had lodged a complaint at divisional ACB office that the Panchayat Sevak of Saand Bindeshwar Pandey is demanding bribe to release his hard earned amount. Mithilesh was the contractor of a PCC Road built in that area under the scheme of 13th Finance Commission with a cost of Rs. 140000.
He had withdrawn most of the amount of this work but an amount of about Rs. 10000 was not paid to him because of Panchayat Sevak’s report. Panchayat Sevak Bindeshwar Pandey, who is a resident of Nainpuri village of Daru block of Hazaribagh district, was demanding Rs. 5000 as bribe to give the report.
The ACB team investigated the complaint and then sent Mithilesh to deal with Panchayat Sevak. The deal was finalized at Rs. 2000 and Panchayat Sevak instructed him to give the money on Tuesday morning near Vivekananda School from where he takes bus for Barkagaon.
As per planning the complainant reached there and as the Panchayat Sevak arrived handed him over the chemical coated notes.
Alert ACB team members immediately took him under custody and then first went to his village Nainpuri and then to Barkagaon block and searched papers and other items. In noon the team members sent him to Ranchi.
