97% students of 5th, 8th class pass

Around 97 per cent students in classes 5th and 8th have passed their examinations in Punjab. While 62.32 per cent students in 8th standard have scored over 60 per cent, 67.30 per cent of students in class 5th have scored more than 60 per cent marks. Punjab Education Department on Wednesday announced the results of 5th and 8th standard examinations. A total of 2,14,053 students appeared in 5th standard exams out of which 42,128 scored 80 percent while 1,44,049 students scored more than 60 percent marks. District Fazilka scored top position in 5th standard results where 82.50 per cent students scored more than 60 per cent marks. Similarly, a total of 2,21,716 students took 8th standard exams out of whom 24,567 scored 80 percent while 1,38,175 scored more than 60 percent marks.
