Six women activists from Odisha would be felicitated at an international-level women convention on peace and non-violence.
The convention would be held at Jalgaon village in Maharashtra from October 2 to 4. A total of 50 women peace messengers from 35 counties would join.
While 100 women who are working in the national and State level for social service have participated in various seminars on peace and non-violence held earlier, 50 women who have done works for containing violence at the grass root level would be felicitated.
The ones selected from Odisha include Kadambini Tripathy from Nabarangpur, Basanti Majhi and Basanti Sabar from Kalahandi and Sadhumani Harizan, Subhashini Jain and Rituparna Mohanty.
To participate in the convention, a delegation from Odisha comprising Sanjukta Sahu, Kanakalata sahu, Jyostna Mohanty, Kadmbini Tripathy, and Suchhanda Mohapatra would go to Jalgaon.
Besides, a film festival would also be held at the Indian International Centre from October 10 to 13 in New Delhi. 40 films on peace and non-violence would be screened on the occasion.
