The State Government has said that it has cleared investment proposals worth Rs50,605.52 crore through the State-level Single Window Clearance Authority (SlSWCA) to set up 55 industries in the last three years.
Replying to a written question of BJD MlA Ayub Khan, Industries Minister Debi Prasad Mishra on Thursday told the Assembly that 55 project proposals have been approved through the SlSWCA between 2013 and 2016.
The projects include a Rs8,000-crore proposal of the Mahanadi Basin Power, a Rs7,500-crore proposal of the Tata Power and a Rs7,563-crore project of the Utkal Alumina International ltd.
Meanwhile, the Government has asked district Collectors to properly implement the single-window system at the district level.
Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi in a letter to the Collectors asked them to hold meetings of District-level Single-Window Clearance Authorities (DlSWCAs) and District-level Facilitation Cells (DlFCs) every month.
“It has been found that these meetings are not being held regularly in some districts. The Collectors need to ensure that these meetings are organised regularly and effectively,” said Padhi.
He said the DlSWCAs and DlFCs have to play a critical role to promote MSMEs and ensure industrial development and generation of employment.
Padhi also wanted to ensure that all new proposals are submitted and processed through the e-biz portal.
