NO INTERVIEWS FOR CONSTABlE RECRUITMENT IN PB POlICE
Chandigarh: The Punjab Police has clarified that there will be no personality test/Interview in the ongoing process of recruitment of 7359 constables (male & female) in District Police and Armed Police Cadre of State Police. According to Chairman, Central Recruitment Board (Male and Female Constables 2016), the selection of candidates will be done only on the basis of aggregate of marks given as as per the height of the candidates and as per the marks obtained in the Class +2 examination. These directions have been issued by the office of the Director General of Police, Punjab, Chandigarh.
CS PUNJAB ADMINISTERS OATH TO 6 NEW COMMISSIONERS
Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Secretary Sarvesh Kaushal on Thursday administered Oath of Office to six newly appointed Commissioners in the Punjab Right to Service Commission. With the joining of the six commissioners -- Rajinder Prasad Mittal, Jagdeep Singh Cheema, lakhwinder Singh lakhi, Kamaldeep Bhandari, Jagmeet Kaur Sandhu, and Pankaj Sharma, the Punjab Right to Service Commission now has 9 commissioners, headed by former Chief Secretary S.C. Aggarwal.
WESTERN ARMY COMMANDER VISITS VAJRA CORPS
Chandigarh: lt Gen Surinder Singh, GoC-in-C, Western Command was on a two-day official visit at HQ Vajra Corps Jalandhar. The Army Commander subsequently visited forward locations in Gurdaspur and Amritsar and appreciated efforts being made by all to enhance the levels of preparedness. Interacting with field commanders, he emphasized on the need to ensure a high degree of readiness at all levels with special reference to the areas adjoining J&K like Pathankot and Gurdaspur. He reiterated on greater coordination and co-operation with BSF and all intelligence agencies in the area for a better synergy.
‘SHOPKEEPERS CAN’T INClUDE BOX IN WEIGHT OF SWEETS’
Chandigarh: Haryana Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister, Karan Dev Kamboj has stressed the need to generate awareness among the consumers that the practice of some shopkeepers to include the weight of box to that of the sweets is illegal and could invite stern action against such defaulters. He said that the consumers should be aware of their rights and object to such illegal practices of those shopkeepers who weigh sweets at their own will, especially in the festive season. The consumers could register their complaints in this regard on toll-free phone numbers 1967 and 1800-180-2087, he added.
PEOPlE PlEDGE FOR ORGAN DONATION AT AWARENESS CAMP
Chandigarh: The awareness camp on Organ Donation at Zonal Youth Festival organized by Regional Organ & Tissue Transplant Organisation (ROTTO) PGIMER got a positive response with 137 students and faculty members pledging for organ donation at MCMDAV College, Chandigarh. During the camp, the queries posed by the students on the myths and misconceptions about the organ donation were also addressed by the transplant coordinators from ROTTO.
